Papaji - Ignoranța creează ideea suferinței (Ignorance creates the idea of suffering)

https://leokamarius.blogspot.com/2018/08/papaji-ignoranta-creeaza-ideea.html

Papaji: SIMȚĂMÂNTUL TĂU DE A FI O PERSOANĂ ESTE OBSTRUCȚIONAREA.

"Your sense of being a person is the obstruction."

Waking, dreaming and sleeping are states you understand. After this there is turiya, the fourth state. This is the state in which the previous three appear and disappear. Beyond that is turiyatita, which means "beyond the fourth".
These scientists were going from ashram to ashram, looking for swamis to test with their equipment. Some of the scientists were part of an astronaut-training programme. Apparently, astronauts were not sleeping well in space, so research was going on, looking for ways to improve their sleeping. There was a theory that some kind of meditation or yoga might improve their sleeping patterns.
These scientists were looking for swamis to test. They wanted to put electrodes on their heads while they were meditating to see what happened to the brain waves during meditation. They tried many people and eventually ended up with a man called Swami Rama. When they arrived he was gardening in his ashram.

They approached him very respectfully and explained their purpose. Then they asked him if he would sit or lie down and meditate while they checked out his brain waves.
He replied, "You can attach your wires while I am watering my garden. I DON'T NEED TO SIT DOWN TO MEDITATE."
The scientists put wires on his head and discovered that, as the swami had said, his mind was not working while he was engaged in his daily gardening chores. They were so impressed, they took him off for further tests.
If you are knowingly established in the substratum, any amount of activities can go on, and you won't need the mind to do them. The Self will take care of all these things and you will remain in peace at all times.

Let us go back to the three states – waking, dreaming and sleeping – and the underlying fourth state of Emptiness. The three states are projected onto that substratum, that background in which sleeping comes and goes, dreaming comes and goes, and waking comes and goes. There is some substratum, some basic foundation on which they all revolve. That FOUNDATION, that presence, that space IS ALWAYS THERE, but while you are preoccupied with outside things, YOU FORGET IT.

Now, there are three classes of people. In the first category there are those who never ever forget. Under all circumstances they know that everything is taking place in this substratum. These people are the JIVANMUKTAS, which means that they are fully liberated while they are still alive in their bodies. The second category get themselves into trouble because sometimes they remember and sometimes they forget. Awareness of Emptiness may be there for a while, but then the memory of a friend who has died may rise up and suddenly they are in grief. They have lost the awareness of that Emptiness by attaching themselves to a thought. This kind of "emptiness" is not abiding; it depends on the whims of mental activities. The people in the third category are suffering all the time. They never have even a glimpse of that original space, that emptiness, and so they suffer endlessly. For them, samsara never ends or even stops briefly.

If you are a member of the very exclusive number one club, you know that WHATEVER MANIFESTS IS AN APPEARANCE IN YOUR OWN SELF. When you wake up, manifestation arises, but you know that it is all a PROJECTION. When you sleep, no manifestation is present, but you, your Self, will still remain. Something will still be there while you sleep, and that something is your own SELF.

Question: I am not aware of that presence while I am asleep.

Papaji: Yes, it is because "you" are not present. It is the "you" that you live through that DECIDES these matters. For "you" presence is only felt when there is some obstruction to the awareness of the presence.

Question: "When there's obstruction, I can feel presence, but when there isn't, I can't." This sounds very paradoxical.

Papaji: YOUR SENSE OF BEING A PERSON IS THE OBSTRUCTION. Everything, all your experiences, or the lack of them, are mediated through this idea of individuality. This obstruction rises from the presence and you either feel the presence through it, or you are aware of its absence. The presence is there all the time, but you don't feel it in your deep-sleep state because this mediator, this "I", is not there. You don't know how to be aware of anything when this "I" is absent, so you declare, "Presence is not there when I sleep."

You use this obstruction to validate all your experiences but it has no inherent validity of its own. Shanti, peace, was there before the obstruction arose, and when the obstruction subsides, shanti still prevails. Your inherent nature is this shanti/peace. It is there both when the experiencer is there and when the experiencer is absent.
Here we speak of the fish that is still in the river and which cries, "I am thirsty!" It is ignorance that creates the idea of suffering. That space, that Emptiness, is your inherent nature. IT IS ALWAYS THERE....

Rupert Spira - Libertatea în relații (Freedom in Relationships)

https://leokamarius.blogspot.com/2018/08/rupert-spira-libertatea-in-relatii.html

It means giving your companion complete freedom to do whatever she or he pleases. Not that their freedom depends on your permission, but it means having the attitude of giving the other TOTAL freedom, you have no right to control them or dictate how they behave in any way at all. Of course, by the same token, you are also free, so if you don’t like their behavior, you are free to leave. You don’t stay together because you have imposed on each other a set of rules, regulations and expectations, you leave each other TOTALLY free. You like to be left totally free, you don’t like to have someone controlling you, none of us do, so you can be sure your companion also doesn’t like to be controlled or dictated to either.

So if you have that attitude in a relationship then the only reason for staying together is you really want to be together, you really love each other.
It doesn’t mean to say there are not difficulties in a relationship, there are always difficulties, but you really want to be together, that’s the ONLY reason, not because of any expectation or demand. Feel that in yourself, the freedom to let the other do whatever they want, wherever she or he wants, weather it is to stay with you, or leave you, sleep with other people if he/she wants to, why shouldn’t she? It’s her freedom. Of course you don’t have to stay with her if you don’t like it, and chances are that if you really love each other dearly and enjoy each other's company, there won’t be much impulse to go off sleeping with other people because one only tends to do that in a relationship when you are not satisfied. Your being together, your bond will just be a bond of Love, it won’t be dictated by should’s and shouldn’ts.

You can’t impose honesty on your companion, only of yourself. Of course if he or she isn’t honest and open, you don’t have to stay. It’s not so black or white. If you feel she’s not being honest, you can say something and you can explain: “ This is not the kind of relationship I want, not what I consider to be a loving, honest relationship and I won’t stay in it” and explain to her. She then, out of her own freedom, can also say the equivalent to you. She has no right to change you but, she does have the right to leave. Of course it’s not only about leaving or staying. You end up talking about it, explaining it and only leave if it’s the last resort. When you explain these matters, it’s not from a position of demanding the other, or expecting the other to be a certain way. It’s an exploration of your openness, your honesty, your vulnerability together. So you can still work through these matters without dictating to the other.

The message you want to send to your companion is that you care more about truth and love than you care about her. That your first commitment is to truth and love and beauty and that you won’t let anyone or anything deflect you from that. It doesn’t mean you are perfect at it, you don’t pretend to be perfect at it, but it is your intention, your desire that your relationship is primarily about that, about exploring it together, celebrating it together, sharing it together, because ultimately your interest is not the relationship but it is truth, it is beauty, it is love and that your intention with her is to share this and explore this with her.

Don’t compromise your love of truth for anything or anyone and if your companion shares your love of Truth then you will be tremendously attractive to one another and it will be THIS Love of Truth that keeps you together, never demands and expectations.

Adyashanti - Curajul de a investiga (The Courage to Question)

https://leokamarius.blogspot.com/2018/08/adyashanti-curajul-de-investiga-courage.html

Keep questioning right down to the marrow, until the questioner dissolves— leaving only a passing draft where there was once a solid illusion called me.
Most people come to spiritual teachers and teachings with a host of hidden beliefs, ideas, and assumptions that they unconsciously seek to be confirmed. Even if they are willing to question these beliefs, they almost always replace the old concepts with new, more spiritual ones—thinking that these new concepts are far more real than the old ones.
Even those who have had deep spiritual experiences and awakenings beyond the mind will, in most cases, continue to cling to superstitious ideas and beliefs. This is an unconscious effort to grasp for the security of the known, the accepted, or the expected. It is this grasping for security, in all its inner and outer forms, that limits the perspective of enlightenment and maintains an inwardly divided condition which is the cause of all suffering and confusion. In order to fully awaken to the fact that you are nothing but awakeness itself, you must want to know the Truth more than you want to feel secure.

Shortly after I began teaching, I noticed that almost everyone coming to see me held a tremendous number of superstitious ideas and beliefs that were distorting their perceptions and limiting their scope of spiritual inquiry.
What was most surprising was that even those who had had deep and profound experiences of spiritual awakening continued to hold onto superstitious ideas and beliefs which severely limited their depth of experience and expression of true awakening. Over time, I began to see how delicate and challenging it was for most seekers to find the courage to question any and all ideas and beliefs about the true nature of themselves, the world, others, and even enlightenment itself.

In almost every person, every religion, every group, every teaching, and every teacher, there are ideas, beliefs, and assumptions that are overtly or covertly not open to question. Often these unquestioned beliefs hide superstitions, which are protecting something that is untrue, contradictory, or being used as justification for teachings and behaviors that are less than enlightened.

The challenge of enlightenment is not simply to glimpse the awakened condition, nor even to continually experience it. It is to be and express it as yourself in the way you move in the world. In order to do this, you must come out of hiding behind any superstitious beliefs and find the courage to question everything. Otherwise, you will continue to hold on to superstitions that distort your perception and expression of That which is only ever Awake.

Adyashanti - O existență neîntreruptă (A Seamless Existence)

https://leokamarius.blogspot.com/2018/07/adyashanti-o-existenta-neintrerupta.html

Experiența ne învață asta, și apoi începem să-i dăm drumul.

Există doar un lucru neîntrerupt, orice nume vrei să-i dai. Ramana l-a numit Sinele.

In spiritual realization, if we mistake the first blush, the by-products of first discovery, for that which we’ve discovered, then we remain a kind of immature lover. An immature lover endlessly mistakes love for the experience of falling in love. In the same way, we may remain an immature realizer. We may have realized something, but we can remain in an immature state: “I want it to be this way all the time. I want it to feel like, ‘Oh, my God!’ all the time.” You’re not going to get past the threshold of the doorway of reality doing that. Experience teaches us that, and then we start to let go of it. We move beyond the ego mind into just being what we are.

That matures for a while. And then at some point, there may be a vast expanse of consciousness. It's like being a conscious, awake, alive, vibrant “nothing.” And it's a great nothing to be—a totally ascendant, transcendent experience. But it starts to dawn on you, “Okay, I am the nothing as opposed to everything else. Something doesn’t quite add up. There’s still some division. Maybe this isn’t the entire picture.” Not that you have to throw away what you’ve realized, but maybe there’s more to the picture. “Maybe it’s not just this stark duality that I have going, being the aware, awake nothing of consciousness and the everything of existence, the form of existence. That’s a fundamental duality.”

When that interest arises in you, it starts to help. There’s a clutching that you don’t even know is happening. It’s deep in the unconscious. It’s holding on to the new identity of formlessness. There’s a great tendency to want to stay there because it’s a kind of heaven. And you can understand why, because life’s a rough ride sometimes, and then you come into contact with something that’s never been harmed and can’t be harmed ever, and is always there, something that nobody can give you or take away from you. It is such an amazing relief and security to experience something like that. One is not quick to let it go, nor should we be quick to let it go. But it does arise that there may be more to this story.

That curiosity starts to loosen the unconscious holding on to the new identity as formless awareness. It’s not that the formless awareness identity has to go anywhere; it’s just that the clutching at it starts to loosen. And as it loosens, then the witness position relinquishes itself, and the witnessing collapses into the witnessed. When the holding starts to be relinquished, it’s the descending movement. It descends down into the heart. When this descent happens, the heart starts to awaken, and the witness collapses into the witnessed. Then we start perceiving through the heart, seeing through the heart. Then the witness and what is witnessed seem to be one. They’re the same.

It's a grand inclusion and the waking up of a perceptual capacity from the heart that sees the underlying unity of existence. Experientially, it’s like looking up at a tree and feeling as if the tree is seeing itself. Or you look up at the sky and it feels as though the sky is seeing itself. Or you touch something and you feel as though what you’re touching is feeling itself.

There’s no subject-object relationship going on anymore. There’s just one seamless thing, whatever you want to call it. Ramana called it the Self. The Buddhists call it Buddha nature. You could even call it the perception of life experiencing itself. “Oh, I thought I was apart from life. I thought life was something that I was in and trying to negotiate.” That’s the egoic perspective. “And now I see that I’m actually life itself, the whole of it, also appearing as a particular part at the same time.” You get to play both sides.

Adyashanti - Tranziția de la personal la întregime (The Transition from Personal to Wholeness)

https://leokamarius.blogspot.com/2018/07/adyashanti-tranzitia-de-la-personal-la.html

There is a phase where we transition from a “personal” viewpoint–with all its personal will, motivations, and driving energy—to a way of being moved by the wholeness of Life which lacks the personal will, personal motivations, and personal energy. This is a massive transition, and part of this transition involves going through a plateau phase where the personal viewpoint is mostly dead and the wholeness of Life has not yet started to function through/as you in an obvious way.
During this plateau phase it can be very challenging to engage in life in the ways that are necessary. However, it is important to do the things that are necessary even though there is no personal energy or motivation to draw upon. As strange as this may sound, you function from a place of no energy and no drive. You simply do what you truly need to do without drawing upon any inner source of will or motivation. During this phase you are literally being weaned off of all forms of self-consciousness and the various forms of motivation and energy that self sustains itself with.

The danger is that some people become stuck in this no-man’s-land. They keep reaching back for something that is no longer there, and never learn to function from a place beyond self. They have unknowingly grasped onto and become stuck in the limbo state between self hollowed-out and self fallen-away. Either that happens, or what is left of self can hide away in a false rejection of society and life as a subtle means of sustaining itself.

While it is important to give yourself time to be still and silent (and unproductive) during this phase, it is also important not to become stuck in a non-functional state. The key is to stop looking at what is no longer there, which is a subtle form of self-consciousness, and experience Life from Life’s point of view, which is neither an “inner” experience nor an outer expression, but a non-relative knowing of Eternity here and now. This is of course, completely nonconceptual, nongraspable, and nonunderstandable until it has taken place—and self in all its subtle manifestations has fallen away.

Then there is an adaptation to a new way of being, and life goes on with great simplicity and beauty, and is lived by a totality that the mind can never know. While this may not sound compelling to the ego, it is quite literally, Eternity experiencing itself—timelessly.
And still, one is as unimpressive as they ever were.
Sitting here at home in a faded T-shirt, typing words into an empty screen in a world where nothing ever happened.
Strange how we keep meeting like this.
And still such joy,
Such joy.

Mooji - Fii Cel Neschimbător (Be The Unchanging)

https://leokamarius.blogspot.com/2018/07/mooji-fii-cel-neschimbator-be-unchanging.html

Observă deoarece ceva are o mâncărime să "facă".

When you believe something, you believe it into existence and it becomes your experience. If the mind does not get your belief, he has no power. If he gets your belief, you empower him. Are you merely that which is changing or are you the Unchanging? Or both? We have a dynamic aspect. We have a sense of life, of growth and changing, of coming and going. We know this life. And yet, at the same time, the life that we think we are is very visible at a deeper level to something; a pure Awareness causes the perceiving of the dynamic life to happen also. Can you feel it? Can you feel where my words are speaking? Who receives them? They are not asking you to change. They are guiding you to the Unchanging in you. The changing we know pretty well. But do you know the Unchanging?

Something inside us seems to have given tremendous energy to blind you to the Unchanging, because the instant that you recognise the Unchanging, you are Free. When you recognise that the Unchanging and your Self are one, then you may enjoy the changeful without fear. I wonder if you see this? It is important because if you have heard and seen what I am pointing to, then in this instant it is like you are reborn into an innocence, a purity, and it might feel like "what to do now?" Well, my answer would be to stay as the WHAT IS and observe that Life takes care of life. Observe because something is itching to "do". Observe that but don't identify with anything.

There is a habit, a reflex to identify with the images and the movements that occur through the mind, but it is possible to simply observe without identifying or without being swept up into the noise of the mind. All liberated beings know what I am speaking. They are that Power themself. So, what to do? Well, nothing in particular. Everything in general is fine. Do what comes to you naturally but keep your attention on the ISNESS. Gradually you will come to a natural harmony, a natural balance and synchronicity with the Self. You are going to not just learn, but also unlearn and trust It. Trust what you are experiencing. Trust that there is a Power which I call Grace, which is here to help you to become more established in the Truth that you ARE.

The old mind, the dark side wants you to be afraid, but if fear comes, remember it is not for the WHAT IS. Do you see this? It is again for the person. It is as though the person appears out of the WHAT IS. It is the WHAT IS but it has been severely limited because of the belief that it is merely the body, which is a time body. This is a time body. This is a mortal body, but the Immortal is using it right now. He is living in here. Immortal means Imperishable, Deathless, Unborn, Uncreated.

Adyashanti - Adevărul vine cu un preț (Truth Comes at a Cost)

https://leokamarius.blogspot.com/2018/07/adyashanti-adevarul-vine-cu-un-pret.html

“Truth Comes at a Cost”

If I was to translate the enlightened state down into human terms, I’d have to describe it as contentment. Being nobody, going nowhere, needing no reason to exist. To the ego, that probably sounds a little boring, and of course to an ego it is. But then again, there’s really nothing for the ego in enlightenment. In enlightenment, the egoic false self is rendered an irrelevant illusion, a mask, a character that nothingness wears while pretending to be human.
Not only is there nothing in enlightenment for the ego, the ego is really nothing but a defense against enlightenment. I’m not saying that ego is bad or evil because it’s not. I’m saying that ego is a social and personal construct and therefore an illusion. But there’s nothing wrong with an illusion. A painting is an illusion; a movie is an illusion; a good novel is an illusion. The problem isn’t with illusion; the problem is with the emotional attachments and addictions of ego.

To most people "attachment" is a very abstract word that they think they understand. People in spiritual circles think of attachments in terms of things that they are attached to. They identify the things attached to and endeavor to let go of them, but this misses the whole point of what attachment really is. Attachment isn’t about things attached to; it’s about emotion in the form of a magnetic energy of attraction. That energy is how you know who you are as an ego. That energy is who you are as an ego. Ego defines itself by what it does and does not like. There is no ego outside of this emotional energy of attraction and repulsion—better known as love and hate, like and dislike, good and bad, right and wrong, us and them, me and you. Without emotional investment in the ego’s points of view, what’s left of ego but a hollow shell with a little personality mixed in?

You breathe life into your ego in the form of emotional addictions. Emotion is the very life-force of ego. So the point of detachment isn’t to detach from things, but to detach from your emotional bonds with things. And you don’t simply let go of emotional bonds; you burn through them with investigative awareness. You see them for what they are: prisons, false structures holding you in spiritual infancy. You may think that I am being a bit harsh—which I am, but awakening to truth is a harsh business. The bottom line is "What do you want more: to feel better or to realize the truth?"

Sure, truth realization feels really good, but no one gets there whose driving motivation is simply to feel good. Feeling really good is a byproduct of the awakened state; it is not the state itself. The state itself is reality, and it’s won at the hands of unreality. Simply put, ultimate truth comes at a cost, and the cost is everything in you and about you that is unreal. The end result is freedom, happiness, peace, and no longer viewing life through the veils of illusion.
